The Call
Dear Lord
I hear you calling me
to unfamiliar places
unrecognizable faces
pleading for something
I can’t give..
Grant me courage, Father.
thrice you’ve called
commanded me to leave
my comfort zone
to aid my brother
and I’m still here.
Why should he be forced
to eat left overs..crumbs..
while I feast upon the
Bread of Life
get so fat I cannot
move beyond myself
What good is knowledge
if not shared
or bread or drink
if consumed upon one’s lust?
Yes, Father, I will go now
with thee..on thy sacred errand
to feed thy beloved sheep
that they may hunger no more.
I thank thee for the call.
