I haven’t been here for a few days, and apologies to those who have written . Our dog Shadow is in intensive care, and it has been very stressful. He has had a
chronic lung condition for most of his life and a few weeks ago was worse. We tried various treatments and finally he developed pneumonia or some kind of infection.
Like people he didn’t eat for days when on the antibiotics, and got weaker, until Friday I felt we had to do something more.
He was admitted to the hospital yesterday and the admitting ER doc, was not optomistic. What a sad place; like human hospitals the waiting room was full of people with worried looks, tears, and nervous conversation. And not to belittle human suffering, there’s something about a sick pet that is so difficult., they don’t really understand what is going on. It was so hard to leave him there, but I knew it was the best possible place for his chance to recover.
This morning I got a good news , he was doing much better, eating, and sleeping and we are hopeful that it will improve and he can come home tomorrow.
