This is what you end up with if you sew a lot!
Like sewing, this painting took a lot of work~

I have been a painter and sculptor for over 43 years professionally and after all this time, I still love it. It is challenging, makes me think about the world and keeps me connected to life.
My art is a mix of realism and impressionism with a bit of humor thrown in.
I am available for commission work- just ask!

Fantastic detail. this is a flashback memory for sure. My mother sewed a lot and there was always a supple of the wooden spools mostly the Coats & Clark’s. What make this special is my wife sews some and the spools today are plastic and certainly more than 15 cents. Excellent work, masterfully painted Linda.

    Hey Jim,
I know what you mean. My mom use to sew all the time and taught me. I have done a lot of sewing over the years and I certainly MISS the wooden spools! and your wife is correct…….. they sure cost a LOT more (for plastic yuk!). These will become collectors items someday:)

Love the Coats and Clarks Spools! My mother used that thread and those spools. We used to take the empty spools and make little tractors using wooden matchsticks, candlewax and a rubber band. You would them up, set them down and they would travel across the floor. Your image brought back some very good memories.
I don’t think they still make wooden spools.
