“Antique Buttons”
oil on canvas
still life

This was one of my mom’s old jars of buttons.
I try to use them on some of my art doll sculptures but they have
so much sentimental value to me that I find it hard to part with them.

WELCOME TO MY ART!
I have been a painter and sculptor for over 43 years professionally and after all this time, I still love it. It is challenging, makes me think about the world and keeps me connected to life.
My art is a mix of realism and impressionism with a bit of humor thrown in.
I am available for commission work- just ask!

Don’t you just love button jars? I even see a snap bottom in there. Let’s see, I could use one of those….;)
wonderful. Yes they are sentimental, right down to the split shell button.

  • Oh gal, you know your buttons!! THANKX!!

My dear grandmother always kept a button jar just like this! She would let the grandkids pour them out and look through them. Now I have my own button jar even though I don’t sew a lot like she did. It’s a sentimental memory kind of thing and I find it comforting. You did a great job painting this! :)

  • Sharon, you are RIGHT ON! Funny how the little things like this can bring back such memories! Everytime I look at the old jar….I think of mum!

  • With all these button comments……..looks like we should have an “old button” club!! Wonder what it is about old buttons??? FUNNY !!!
