“Self Portrait”
oil on canvas

“Yep, a self portrait. Actually,I haven’t done a self portrait since the early 70’s. So,this is me standing at a local coffee shop. Do we want to get philosophical about it? Oh, why not. In this world today, talking to people around the world through the internet, making friends in distant places and all the time never actually seeing the real person…
I create my paintings, put them online and I say to myself, it is the work that really matters.

WELCOME TO MY ART!
I have been a painter and sculptor for over 43 years professionally and after all this time, I still love it. It is challenging, makes me think about the world and keeps me connected to life.
My art is a mix of realism and impressionism with a bit of humor thrown in.

    We so often over look shadows and their appeal and beauty, don’t we Linda?
    It reminds me of a lovely little poem written by Robert Louis Stevenson, I used to like as a child:
    I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me,
    And what can be the use of him is more than I can see.
    He is very, very like me from the heels up to the head;
    And I see him jump before me, when I jump into my bed.

    The funniest thing about him is the way he likes to grow—
    Not at all like proper children, which is always very slow;
    For he sometimes shoots up taller like an india-rubber ball,
    And he sometimes goes so little that there’s none of him at all.

  • Oh, I know this poem……….totally had forgotten it!!!!! cool!! Thanks!!!!

    As they say they are trying to make computers more human – but only a human mind can understand the creativity of your art. A computer can only record images and sounds. To understand another creative piece of work of yours takes a human mind which sees an painted piece of work composed as if taken with a camera. CREATIVITY strikes again :o)
