“Winter Blues”
oil on canvas – contemporary figurative

Like this painting? It is the February image in my calendar – Everyday Moments

Gentleman walking past a construction site on a cold, clear winter day.I wanted to create something strong and simple, playing with color and shadows.
I liked the results so much on this one that I put it on the book cover of Art Journal of Daily Life- Volume Two

WELCOME TO MY ART!
I have been a painter and sculptor for over 43 years professionally and after all this time, I still love it. It is challenging, makes me think about the world and keeps me connected to life.
My art is a mix of realism and impressionism with a bit of humor thrown in.
I am available for commission work- just ask!

Love this Linda… such a simple scene yet it makes me ask questions… who is he? Where is he going? Where’s he been? etc… You can build your own story around this image… great work! : )

  • Thank you so much……….funny about this painting……..it has always been a favorite of mine…..I love shadows and this blue is my fav color…..but I agree with you, I think it is the simplicity of the piece that makes it for me.

Very nice work Linda. I like the way it combines the abstract with the realism.

Another winner for me, those colour choices are superb and such a simple subject in the right composition – stunning

For me this work seems to reflect on the loneliness of old age; but, also, the sterility of the modern age, and, living city life; no grass/trees/flowers/-etc. ;-)

  • Interesting about this piece……it happens to be a fav of mine but I agree,it does evoke a sense of sadness or loneliness.
