This image displays the beautiful side of something truely revolting….the human gut!! Its show the cross section through the ‘crypts’ of the gut, the parts responsible for absorbing all the good (and bad) things we consume. Each blue dot is the nuclei of an individual cell, while the pink colour is used to detect rare and specific stem cells within the ‘crypts’. I love it. Reminds me in some way of Australian Aboriginal dot art technique paintings.
