Single Strand
I wrote this next to a photograph I took while in Kauai. It is named Liannes Leaf
I found this shot and poem today as I wanted the front page of my PF to represent my floral work in the past couple of years.
The poem on the side bar was written to the same person the photo was titled for. Lianne incredible writer and poet that I have had the pleasure of knowing almost my entire time here on RB.
It feels good to post this as a main written piece and use the shot as the side bar enhancement.

A single strand
A shadow is drawn
A face is seen
And words are written.
The heart speaks her tone
Her lessons
Her truth;
“What else is there?” she says,
Why not let you know
This is where I stand?
In my own shadow
In my own world
Ready to let you in.
Unafraid and unabashed
NOW is my time
I am singing and playing a tune
Written from the secrets
In the old wood cupboards
That hold delicate china
With diamond like crystal
Handed down to me
A legacy
You may hear if you care to
For I will never end my journey
To the center of my love
To the core of my Being
And I will leave a trail of leaves
In Autumn Light
Softly to cushion your feet

Lina my dear – I feel so humbled by the generosity of your gift and your words. My heart is full to overflowing because you have shared your full heart today in all your work and made me more aware than ever of what a community of grace this is. You have from the first, Lina, encouraged me to grow, helped my writing to continue to evolve and imbued it with a value I did not even begin to know it had. More than that, my wonderful friend, you accepted me back here after my long absence with enthusiasm and with full faith that the “river” (you know the one I mean) had taken us both where we needed to be for a time. The journey continues – and it is my joy to be once again paddling in the same canoe!!! Thank you so much for this Lina – it is extraordinarily beautiful and I cherish it – and you.
