Playing Movies About Dead Bears, Live
What will happen when they go?
I love my Polar Bears and I just woke up dreaming about them.
Would living care?
It is like a Polar Bears existence
The ice is melting and there is nowhere to land
I have heard they have a way to solve this problem
But its just bears
Wait till its too late and then we’ll play movies
They will look like they still exist!
The ice that is gone is 7 feet deep now
Sucking up land that housed a memory
A family.
Dogs and cats
Remain because they are no longer wild
Demystified and Safe
Moving to mountains that are barren now
Stripped by winds that carry seeds of forgetfulness
The sound intense with loneliness
Listen…
Howling angst for wilderness life
Extinguished when the last great growl
Drowned in a land
far, far away.

Tragic and so very sad,
I always have an ache in my chest at the thought of the passing
Especially when it should never have been so…and then how do we pick a species to sustain,
We have forced so many into extinction.
Like you
The polar bear
Is a majestic animal
How can we ever let it die out.
We fucking can’t.
I feel your heart ticking loudly xxxx

Bees and bears, birds and boats – your heart encompasses them all. And with this lovely prayer for their continued existence, preservation and appreciation. Lovely work from a lovely lady. Well done, Lina!

There are a lot of species thet might be extinct.
I think the problem is that the mankind thinks he is not part of nature.
Only when we will understand that all this species are part of who we are, we will find real solutions.
Meanwhile we wiil continue to destroy our planet, and some greedy people will tell us about the “American way”.
I just hope It wiil not be to late for the Polar Bears and for mankind as well.

Hey!
This is a great poem.
Could I please add this to my new community site – which by the way I would of course love you to join….
I think it’s very important that many more people read about it and get reminded again. Not sure if my site has many visits yet but I would still like to add it.
HUGGGGGGGS to you!!!!!!!!

Wonderful imagery. The dog and cat safe….the polar bear drowning. Speaks marvelously to man’s inability to stretch beyond the kitchen table.

we should talk about this every day, so we can save the next species …. sadly, I think it’s too late for the arctic ….. :( thanks for sharing

Sorry, had to come back again! Polar Bears are an indicator species, being at the top of the food chain means that they are the first hit when anything goes wrong (a balanced ecosystem has large predators), and they are beautiful animals, but the real, underlying story about the arctic is the Northwest Passage. Global warming is happening and there’s not much to be done about this in anything but the long term), but it will get worse. Canada, the USA and Russia are fighting over territorial rights, and not because industrial and political leaders want to go on holiday there, but because when the Northwest Passage opens up to shipping it will be an area of major industrial development – ships, ports, docks, refuelling, marinas, exploration for minerals, oil etc. There will be environmental impact so large that will seriously damage an ecosystem that supports many at risk species, included whales, otters and many others.
You could write to Stephen Harper (PM Canada), Obama and Putin (Russia) and tell them about your concerns!
great post linaji …. look what you’ve done :)

if the rest of the world could see that we are all connected, as you do, that we are all needed, things would be so different. sadly enough, those that can make the biggest difference are busy driving their fancy big SUVs, riding in their private jets, and traveling from giant vacation home to giant vacation home to be bothered with such trivialities. it sure is cozy for them, while mother earth is withering away. its much like the male black widow – they are pleasuring themselves to death, literally. beautiful job, lina, nobody could write this like you. xxxx

I can imagine other animals becoming extinct almost as a choice of their own… “I’ve had enough here…” and in heaven there is the archetype of every life-form, the design potential cannot be extinguished ie god cannot un-create anything. He said “yes” to the idea of polar bears and thus something existed which NEVER existed before. This is the whole point to god, creation and yes. So “no” cannot do that, it can only worl in the realm of what has already been created. No can extinguish the million leaves of a tree but can never touch the root, and NEVER the seed.
I am giving this advice to my own heart as I write. There is only one seed of who I am in the whole universe, the end of this game in this life is only a leaf. Wow, that actually helps me a lot this morning. Thank you Jim. Thank you Lina.

So sad, but true!! I’ve envisioned zoos in the future with flat screens in the cages showing video footage of the animals. Cuts the cost of maintenance, feeding, etc!!
Of course I HOPE this would Never come to pass!!
Linaji, your wonderful writing spreads awareness in a very visually descriptive way!!
Excellent!! :)

While Politicians sit around cleaning coal to sell us the Planet Dies …... maybe if it was cute Koalas … which around here only exist because they imported Koalas from a breeding program to replace the colonies that had died off..
Good Sad piece linaji !!!!
