_What transpired between our bodies was the simplest act in the world
If only our world was not broken and beyond repair
I turn my head and press my ear against the door
Press my eye socket to the peep-hole
Inside the lounge-room behind the curtain of African beads
I see my skin shed on the floor
I see your hand pick it up, hang it on a clothes hanger
And hitch it over the corner of the hall-way door
I see your lips move as you talk to it
As though it is a person with a name
Talking as though it is flesh and bones with a beating heart and
I suddenly twist my body against the door
Till I am standing with my back flat against it
My fingers push
And I fall forward
Taking this moment with me and
All the moments that you missed
When I slipped away from you at dawn_.

Community Chanting Together
our ancestors lessons
Beating the drum of burned villages
By predators we thought pure in heart
Songs of growing pains
Still growing out of thought

Seeing the light of Osiris
Resurrection to the purity of letting go
The murderous Set.
Our lives can be hollow and empty without the spice
Lest we forget?
Infused with our blood
Our tears
Our smiles
And fears
Red.
Will not let us forget the street with no lights
Nor welcoming hand at the dead end of our
Nature
The knocking on the door
In the unlit corridor
Here we pound on the barely lit opening cracked
You feel by our hearts promise
seeking answers that escape our tears
And more fears
Ensue.
Red.
Kind enough to say the truth waits
Surely it does
Beneath all the lyrics of rubble and trouble
Sure to set one free
But please please,
Sing my songs round the fire lit community
And with just a bit of insecurity
(left to ponder our humanity)

OMG O_O I am deeply humbled by your words, and a little “freaked out” for how did you KNOW about my community chanting!!!!!!! is in shock I don’t think I ever mentioned I am involved in community singing groups… hahaha, at least not on here. I think I might have to even put my hand on my heart, I am truely truely humbled by this.

Red.. it is not that I know this from you verbally.. it is that all that you are willing to allow me to see when I focus on you; just opens up.. it is like you are a poem for me to unravel a mystery, just a little, to find my own joy in the knowing of you. I have been waiting for you and I too am humbled by your comment.
