Double Sixes
this was hella fun to create.. I mean it. xox
Double Sixes belongs to the following groups:
Complex Simplicity of Art, "Poetry and Beautiful Women" , Art For The World, Core [C.O.R.E], Creative Poetry Challenges, Feminine Intent (LIMIT TWO IMAGES PER DAY), Lifeline, Midnight Ramblers, The beauty of poetry, THE DIVINE FEMININE, THE SISTERHOOD, Up & Coming Writers and Writing: Persuing HappinessEmbarking on revelations of wisdom that had been generated from a thousand lives before
They peel away corrosive sorrow that coming with each other brings
But
He knows all her secrets
He uses them each time she almost disappears from all that they have become.
He knows she knows that
He knows she sometimes uses this knowledge for sexual pleasure,
and
He knows she knows he knows that.
She is not sure when the moments that promise their dissolution emerge
But this foreboding becomes increasingly more his pleasure as well.
His forsaken logic
Her forsaken silence
She starts to draw him up in her mind
A cartoon coyote to be blown up each time
It chases the innocent dream.
It is the dream many women desire at some juncture in their lives.
Is this her point?
“What has become of us?”
She ponders
What once was seems to have shifted ever so slightly
Like the roll of a die from one minute to the next
Yes
Like a game.
The sinful faux pas of relationships in this century
to play games with each other
But you see as a child and even sometimes as an adult there is something so wonderful about games.
There is always a beginning and then the steps to the prize.
Which is the ending
The whole and complete ending of the game.
The prize is the ending.
AND the rally to whoever gets to that golden square which says
You won~gets up and says all the niceties about how fun it was to play
Slips on their warm jacket usually in the middle of the night
And walks away.
AND then the looser has to put the pieces back in the box
AND find the ones that got lost in the carpet
AND then gets the stepping stool out
AND then unfolds it
AND then tries to find the space in all the junk that they had taken
the box out of out of (context or so it seems).
Then they wonder casually to themselves or lets be honest
herself
As she finally stuffs the box back
In some irrational place
Dark and dusty
Sloppy as hell
Is this worth it?
Amongst the stacks of other games
Outdated and unused
Yet still seem to claim so much massive space
AND… she almost fell off the stepping stool
She considers (as she has many times before) not playing ever again
Because she wants to win
Just once,
But if she won just once
The game would indeed end
The box would become her life
The prize would be some unknowable future
Perhaps tidy with cool colors of blue and white
Perhaps a BBQ outside the home and a small cottage in the back
(for all her artwork)
And parties in the summertime
Dogs
Cats
Fairy lights
But then time happens,
AND she forgets how horrible it is to lose
So she smiles one day and says “ok.
Lets play, but this time I want to be the candy cane”.
AND she rolls an incredible double ace
(moving her an incredible infinitesimal moronic 2 spaces).
AND she remembers, shit I don’t want to loose this time.
AND then she gives him the die
Because she thinks maybe,
Just maybe this time
He won’t roll double sixes.

OH you are so clever and beautiful – this is fun, this is philosophical, this is stunning.
My goodness me, I adore this “A cartoon coyote to be blown up each time it chases the innocent dream.”

“and he knows….she knows….he knows that” you are incredible! This was a delight to read…I can just imagine the fun you had writing this one. Lisa points out a helluva line as well. There are so many.
“Gets up and says all the niceties about how fun it was to play…”
and then the poor looser…....(Can you tell I enjoyed reading this)lol…...I really like this piece….and got a lot from it as well. Plenty being said here. This is a great read!
MarkezzAckui ...
Every time I read it…I see and hear and read a little more. oh my….haha
linaji replied
I did the same.. each time I read it I felt the birthing and the wonder of a story that creates itself!! Thanks so much for your pleasure factor ..makes my day infact Markazz!!!

This is sinply-funtastique-ly-amazing-amazoning and, to paraphrase myself and others, a massive dose of TNT for the brain I never had …damaged, Goddamnit. Strange enough, almost to the point of occult, this piece-of-mind reminds me of H.L. Borges that I read so, so many years ago.
I tell you Linaji, you have something in you that transcends the time-space dis-continuum. Somehow you are able to reach the (now ethereal) minds and hearts of artists across ages. I so envy you for this… whoever you are, cameleonly speaking.
linaji replied
Oh my goodness. thanks first off.. but you know you are like the calvary Vasile. I so love this piece .. it just whipped me out and made me smile at so many parts of life and love and wisdom.. It is always you that seems to stomp about and make all this for me a kinder experience on line. I get a bit jagged and unsure if I am just to far outside the boxes that are comfortable for anyone. But if you are here and you say these things i feel a deep goodness . thank you again friend.
Vasile Stan
...ps: I meant J.L. Borges... mea culpa.

linaji replied
Martin you really touch me this time round as this seemed to me a bit well off the wall(but this piece I love) Here in this work is my smile and my knowing and that you respond so well, helps me to see more of your work. I feel you know so much and your words are always in your images like my images are in my words..
Thank you so much Martin. xx

A chance to take…a rolling of the dice.. Perhaps we roll the dice more than we realize?? Is this taking a gamble or willing to take our chances on possibility? I am left wondering after reading your incredibly descriptive verse. Hmmm have you eaten words for breakfast Lina! You sure have a gift with them finding the paper here ;)))) XXXX
linaji replied

Lina, you already know how brilliant I think this is…
House Cat on acid…
The frame of mind you are in when you write these pieces, it`s like you`re possessed.
Possessed with your own fargen genius.
And I like how you play for keeps. It reminds me how powerful you are.
This gives me a serious buzzzzzzzzzzzsssssssss…

Corrosive metaphor about uncertain submission in a couple game…
It sounds familiar….
yes…
that thing about knowing that we know… the secrets that we know..
is revealing the secrets unfold.
And yes… loosing takes part as a role…
what in hell are we talking about?
It sounds familiar…
I cannot sustain it.
I do not like to play any game…
neither beguining… neither ending it.
Flooding is enough…
the river does not play.
And it follows the dying course without remorse..
coupling with other currents…. and submerging unto the earth.
Yes… that’s it….
your writing is uneasy…. and acid…. and may be a game for mindful absentminded souls.
Rosa (jolly!!)

Great to be read in loud voice… that’s what I did.. to grasp the conversation… and it was really fun… much a scene of a definite theatre play..je je…

Now Lj, this was the perfect gift for me tonight. I can read this one over and over and over and over, and every time I read it, I read your soul out on a different music. Tonight for me is autumn1 and winter2.
I don’t know who you are as I don’t know who am I, but I know this: tonight I am a violin in Nigel’s hands and Vivaldi is my soul.
Tonight I had I listen to the music
