Frankly, I like the way you’ve put this better than anything else I’ve seen or read over the years on the subject.
I was made to feel guilty of any desire growing up and told it wasn’t polite to ask…or accept, anything. That cost me!
But it’s hard to stop positive, roiling energy. Favorited!

You sent it to me specially, I think/I believe, and I did not read it till I needed it, which was today :) I’m so glad you sent this message that it is not wrong to want more, to desire. Creatures of wisdom…
bunch of women and men.. encloistered…
retired from mundane vulgarities…
apparently humble as the humus….
hummiliated..
and double hummiliated…
creeping souls of humble desires…
Saints…
they say..
for they desire…
the unthinkable..
and the forgotten true.
they are God…!
So…
why they should desire feigning no disries…
morality tied to a yearning…
beyonde the flesh and mind..
that so …madly…. is desiring…
not to have but one… just only one desire?
Forget everything about money, status, sex, confort, power, food, health, possesions, recognition, tributes, children, progeny, pleasures… so so…...let’s reduce our yearning to one
goal… that it… be separated from Life… to become God…. or at least… a “real close friend, relative, son, anything..” but God.
I cannot understand the human soul….
the same way I cannot know… neither understand God.

It just came to me… a feeling.
Lately I have been seeing on TV a series about Saint Teresa of Jesus… you know she .. was clse to St Joan of The Cross…. and constitutes two main pillars of the Catholic mysticism of the 16th century… she is a patron of the Sciences and Literature in Spain.. and was considered as exceptional and a saint in her own living time. She was famous for enterpresing a real sever “reform” of the Carmelites Order… coming the idea from herself… both for male and female orders. And the was a prototype of a mystic of that time…. searching for extreme poverty and humble deeds, but complety obsessed by the idea of having a close contact with Jesus Christ, in a way that her literature sometimes is exhaling a profound sensuality, as if she really had a metaphysical orgasms and her mind-body enraptured by the idea… Basing herserlf on the most bizarre ways of self-punishing….and ego-mortification, became suspicious of herteical deeds (mostly by the envy of other religious and nobles of the time)...and at the end… she… all crippled and sick, she kept on having the urge to “found” new “reformed monasteries”... and for that travelling along and across Spain to to do it and gather the money from the rich and religiously pious souls. I became to the conclusion that being a saint was a terible suffering of swishes, desires, and paradoxes. Such a fighting against the flesh and the sexual drives… in order to become “pure” to “marry god”.... (she called Christ his “spouse”) was sort of a sickness for me… some deviation of the natural motion of the human being… in order to ascend to a realm of the spirit, but….. but…. with the means of the flesh… for she was a terribly intelligent and practical woman, close to the earth and knwe the human nature with perfection… And… so… understanding very well what you had writte… i felt a sort of sarcastic shade inside of me… and wrote this…. I somehow… trust much more the human weakness than the apparent perfection. The more you want to get high… the harder will the fall be… It is merely physical.How could smack you??
You are brave… and open…. and not prudish… I do not know you but I know a bit of you.. wht you show… and so all of us…but the most important is that when we admire… or pay attention to any of other soul… we are really looking for ourselves… for we cannot look into our eyes with our own eyes.. and Mankind is a gem of multifaceted souls…. and we survive as species… and prosper… thanks to our… desires….

Thank you for reminding me, Lina, since everything changed I’m having some adjustment problems, mostly impatience having to wait for that which is out of my control, forgetting this is an unfamiliar time of stillness I should revel in. It’s almost my birthday, so this year I will actually buy myself a present!
