Afternoon Aging

I am so full of mystery and joy today
I hope you are smiling with me..
This life is sometimes so
Out of Control!!

What would it be like to grow old
With the afternoon?
Would it smell like Bulgari roses
And feel like the sting of their thorns?

Would the scene look like a white tattered
Porch
Expansive and clean?
As the twilight engages
Narrow sunlight is seen
Dancing and sparkle
On willow and yet,
There you and I are,
Swinging our way
To the stars I would bet.

With fine wine in crystal goblets
And a dog named we named
Zeus
Would growing old in the afternoon
Feel like the loose of a noose?
Your hand on my thigh
And I reading you prose
The ones that I wrote
With blue painted toes

‘A women Wore Passion’
And
‘Predator for Two’
You loved all I read
Because most was of you
The you in the me and the I in the
We
This afternoon’s folly began
To feel free

So back to the Question
Of our growing old
I think it is more like the
End of a road.
We just change direction and follow
Our hearts.
Our afternoon loving
Becomes Twilight’s fresh start.

Ouuuh Sweet Sister.. does this not feel nice and joyful.. I go out the door with recipes, roses, and dust on my hands.. I feel a great appreciation for everyone here today.. you my friend are a great part of my twilight.. and I love you!

Somehow….. that growing old…seems quite “burgoise”.....
but we can paint the future..
and paint the desires of touching daily routines..
with imagination and love.
Somehow..
Miguel and I…are starting to..
get….old?
and we do not know when it does start.
And know that something is growing..
and well… then… we already have not a dog.
But anyway we did have…
and it was Goofy…. and Pekas.
I would sign for that kind of … “loving getting all together…”

Now I can leave.. walk out and then go to my fav coffee shop.. decaf now but it’s taste is the best.. and sit in the sun before I commit to plans outside the cave,, thank you for letting me know.

Gorgeous! You know, age bothers me in some ways—I can’t jump and throw a side-kick so easily anymore. I was so proud of the strength in my body and what it could do. I was watching a move with my wife last evening: I said, “That ain’t so good,” leaped and sure pulled a muscle. We both laughed at my pain. But I look at the people around me, whom I have known for years, and they seem just as beautiful to me if not more so.

Ohhh Darling Joe.. I missed this great comment… I have been mostly gettting to work and uploading a bit. I will catch up on Saturday.. Fri is a big night at the opera.. my gal pal is an opera singer and i am cooking for over 100 people.. all norther Italian.. so you and that amazing strength ..I know cause you told me what you did.. both inside and out will survive the pains of a bit of what the beliefs are on aging.. I feel blessed to know as I change my thinking a new dawn arrives every second I allow for this moment to rule.. Love you Joe!!!

I just wonder how did you know back then… was it a “to whom it may concern”? A premonition of things to flow, a deja vue of the pervasiveness of soul? what was it? you should always put a precise date, and even time, on your writings… time stamp of things to emerge, of places to discover, of emotions to unfold.
