Turn Left and Walk Away... by linaji

Turn Left and Walk Away... by

This piece is dedicated to Isa Rodriguez who’s work in her just floats me boat!
Dear Isa,
It has taken me a long time to dedicate to you because I wanted to try to see through your eyes. Lately I am allowing myself to shoot what I fancy. This work stopped me cold in the morning and i got out of my car in traffic and shot one frame. When I came home.. I did not crop the frame.. I tried but it lost the memory of how I felt when I saw this place in just these tones..I actually was fooling with sat layers and hit gold when it turned black and white and left the color in the lights..!
You know how life can be Isa? Turning left then walking away. Sometimes you just gotta.
Love you Sista,

Redwood City, Caif

    oh yes
    yes and YES….

I can’t begin to express just how much I admire this image,
the traffic moving left and forward, that I get so much
and the towers reaching the outer limits…
    the right red light
    and the left green

    far out my love
wonderful, what a brilliant dedication xoxoxo

  • I swear darling.. this on my big screen on my mac.. I just kept staring cause I was there and yes.. it was like everything stopped when I shot this.. like life was gone, a ghost town.. thank you sweetheart.. I am so shy to do things that are not ‘pretty’.. if you know what I mean.. this feels so real.. xoxoxoxoxo

There could be a moral behing this picture to do with choosing the right road and travelling the distance… What our future holds etc… Aside of that a wonderful picture so much captured in its frame that takes the mind to wandering and wondering… Great one for the muse, bravo!

  • I put you on my watchlist.. as I love your view on this.. I am just beginning to shoot street shots again.. I used to in India..and here it is so familiar I want to learn to see with new eyes.. I have a few teachers you see.. and the man below your comment is one of them.. Isa is a natural.. I adore her and now you are just as wonderful.. thank you.!

Yes…should we take the speedy Blomquist street or turn left, where all is safe, quiet traffic, no overtaking…hmmmm….life has sometimes such difficult choices.

  • yes it does my Farfarm to MICHEL.. sometimes just allowing the turn to take us where we want to go is enough.. xox

this has the feel of time gone by…and irony in the power lines and no turning around sign…hi lina…xoxoxox

  • aww you you got the way I felt in taking the shot.. It was spritual in essence… but I am trying to learn how to convey that.. so if one person really got it.. then I is HAPPY.. BUT.. you are like my twin sista.. so perhaps you had an advantage..teehhehehhe

The selective color here, dear Lina is just the perfect touch for this amazing image. An image with a message and a hint of surprise about the unknown. Red light/green light – but knowing me, I’d have run the red light and headed down that hill straight ahead! Love this Lina – and what a perfect piece as a dedication to our wonderful Isa!!

  • lolol aahhhh Lianne.. us girrrrrrrls.. we do that multi tasking thing and yes it is quite that much, it was an interesting moment to see somthing and hope you can translate.. but I only shot it and black and white the shot and because I used Sat filters to play when I saw this come up I stopped and just said.. wow.. there is that moment!!! anyway you being here this AM is like the cream in me coffee!!
