Transparancy ... A story of Love

This is a true story out of my life with the 14 years I spent with my boyo.. Misha. The best and the only dog I ever desire.

Transparency
was
Wafer thin back then
Perhaps delicate actions that seemed a bit harsh
Was the only thing that spoke to me
Like my old boy Misha
(He was only 2 then but in dog years that is pretty prime)
Coming every night pawing open the door
To the local mountain bar
Zeb’s Place
1:30am (not a minuet too late, but sometimes a bit more early)
I was playing pool
And flirting and drinking and smoking way too much
1995
Woof woof woof woof
He wanted me gone
‘No now’
Woof woof woof woof
May I say he had
No bones about it?
He loved me sure
(past life he loved me too but wanted in the next
life, this one, to love me unconditionally; did he know he would come back as my boyo? Tee hee hee)
And if I was drinking or smoking?
(And I was always drinking and smoking)
I would bend down and go up to his face each night (as we were leaving) just so’s to impress upon everyone how much he loved me “Ohhh Misha! You so wonderful.. Come on and kiss me. pleeeeeeeeeeesee”
and I would make those kissing sounds
And he?
Uggh,
Never,
No never
Not one time is all his days and mine.
He would turn his head right and left and act disgusted,
He would wait for me to open the bar door
Soft and loving laughs coming from my friends
(Oh I was so proud.. look who loves me)
He would then lead me out to my car
Suzuki Samurai.
He’d hop in the back
I would start my engine
(I lived down the way)
And off we would go

It was transparent as hell
Who took care of who back then

Woof woof Woof woof.

Great story! Aren’t special dogs the best? They know, because they just do. They listen with everything they’ve got. Glad to hear you had 14 years with your boyo, Misha.

  • linaji replied

Yes Fran.. it was a miracle to have him as I was not looking for a dog when I got him.. infact I was drinking with my cousins on Whisky Row in Prescott Arizona…but that is another story!! thanks so much.

I could not understand how Misha came up till you just told me how.. You were so much on my mind Marion as I did this piece.. I am completely honored by you in my life.. you know you have inspired me much when I had to keep going back and stop processing it to the depths of color.. I took so long on this cause I needed to allow the softness be the story.. and my heart is so soft for my puppy who is my heart of hearts.. Thanks

Beautiful colors and story. My three are getting along in years and I try to savor each day I have with them. I sit at the computer and they circle my chair like guardians. I know I will miss them mightily one day, but today I just scratch their heads and tell them what good dogs they are.

been back to look again and clued from your grous that it is digital art but still interested to know about the creation of your great image.

  • linaji replied

Susan.. I take a photo.. as I am a photographer.. and then I blew a small piece of the photo up.. I then took 5 hours on this one in particular. There are filters I use but layers upon layers to find certain depths of how to get this to feel right before I call it done.. This was a photo that I used for my recent sale to a corporation for a 40×60 piece. I use a way of doing my work that brings a high resolution quality so my work can be very very large. I love Abstract work and hope you have a chance to look at my other pieces..

I don’t know which is more beautiful, your art or your story of Misha. I empathize with you on the depth of feeling you have for Misha. Dogs have touched my heart in so many ways. My soulmate dog’s spirit left us Christmas Eve, 2006. Never thought I could love another dog as I did that girl. Now my husband and I adopted another shelter waif a year ago…we feel our little “pack” is complete once again. Good luck to you. Perhaps another dog will choose you one day as happened to us.

  • linaji replied

Oh Whalegeek.. your words touch me deeply and i so appreciate your giving me a hint into the possibilities of the future. maybee.. but not right now I know. Also your work on the Polar Bears is unmatched!!

She has been by my side and at my heels for 8 years now : ) Oh – And my vote is woof woof took care of you! : )

  • linaji replied
