Lina, your angle and framing and cropping (or maybe you just shot it perfect and didn`t need to crop?) are to die for.
And I love that everything in this image says turning full sail into the setting sun… again you use the rule of thirds to give us the better part of the frame filled with the intense activity on the boat while saving the remaining third to show us the intense natural beauty of the sky and sea.
But what this does to me major is give me the sense of motion… the way either your wide lense, or maybe a bit of PS distortion, blends the curving horizon with the angle of the boat steering into the wind… just as you are so expanding, this piece just oozes dynamic from the colors to the motion… to the perfect angle of those massive sails ripping through the frame.
Never thought I`d get so excited about a crew on a sailboat. But I understand when I reaslize that`s not what this is. It never is with you… it`s always something more, like in the cowboy song. And those little details that catch my eye, like the way I always seem to land on the guy steering the boat… so intent on making sure you make it. It`s all down to your composition.
And then there`s those pink clouds…

I only cropped from the left.. ahhhh your glorious comment.. let me savor each line. How lucky I am to have your eye on my work and in my heart. I am seeing more of what you mean in the rule of thirds.. that is probly in my nature from interior design.. we worked like that in homes and in setting up retail spotlights on product. So I am seeing I already had training with out knowing I did. and you are so right.. on the PS distortion.. you told me I could use a lens and find ways to make them wide.. so I took a million years to discover this but I did it thanks to your reminding me I could just as well do it on PS.. when I hit it I will not forget how to do it.. and I think this took me way too long for the simplicity of the piece but you know what took hella long? To get the foreground water that color.. geeeeze Co_B_. this was a bear.. but I love the way this feels and the man will buy this I am sure. He has been sailing this boat forever and I think I did indeed capture his spirit.
I am leaving soon for a date that was canceled yesterday due to fu&(%$ traffic out of L.A. My name was taken in vein several times.. but I did stay and feel your presence 10 hours ago right before I slept. you always seem to find a way to send me off to the place where there is no time and no thing just Being in the Knowing that All is Well.
yah.. and that song.. wow.. you are a true Rocker .. I was in heaven.
