A Walk With Perception
They were out on the same walk
She saw buildings
He saw the sky
She saw shadows
He saw the shadows of birds that fly
She saw a crack
He saw a crevice
She saw a hole
He saw a ditch
She saw the homeless
He saw the rich
She saw a rock
He saw a diamond
When they got home they looked into each other’s eyes,
How shall we ever agree on this life at the same time?
They said all at once
Well…
She said
We must learn to revel in our differences
Lets go against society,
Every time I see differently or you do
Lets break out the champagne and the sweet meats
Every time one sees a problem.. Lets celebrate for the other
Every time one sees a solutions lets do it again …
Celebrate
Celebrate each other.. And then we will loose track of
Perfect timing cause every moment will be just perfect!!
So they made a pact and they went for walks
When she saw buildings and he saw the sky they both
Were so happy for what the other was seeing it was like they were seeing EVERYTHING ALL AT ONCE.
It was like it did not matter any more who saw what when or where; It just mattered that they were together.
And guess what?
THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER…
TEE HEE
THE END

beautiful image… actually the differences can make walks become different stories we tell each other, we see things that the other doesn’t see, I think that is what the poem is about..
linaji replied
Pleasentville
this movie did you see it? It is about black and white non changing thinking and liveing and bout contrast. It is about expansion of life and ideas because of contrast as then there is a desire to know more to ask for more.
Just a question on how we judge what will make us a happy couple or friend ect..
I am so different from my friend Brian, yet the things we do meet on are profound and wonderful, so I allow for much with our differences and at times I revel in his.
It takes practice for me to allow for others to be as they are and find peace in that. I am at a constant vigil within my own thinking for this kind of allowing of others. Because once I do change the way I view my expectations of others in my life and begin to allow for all of life to reveal itself (always seeing the benefit of contrast in hindsight) it is here I find my greatest peace.
Thanks so much Red..xox

Wow, Lina, you start to think and See the colors that I live… magic artwork my dear friend. But then, it naturally fits the magic reality we live in our hearts… and the writing… the teaching… the tee ching… and lastly, the tee hee. I love it!
Well said, so true: THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER… how bout Now? ...how much are we allowing? where’s the threshold? is there a threshold to be had?
linaji replied
You are a pastel dreamboat.. and your kindness is so tee chee too… Now? what is Now.. but as I am here writing you NOw.. I feel your allowing nature shine.. what is a threshold my dear friend that bears it’s weight in time.. time space reality ticks away and we allow for the before and the after to rule sometimes…. it is you driving home with a smile on your face knowing and allowing and Being.. that is most most important.. everything is drawn to you from this point.. the shining Vasile… draws to him bees to honey…his soul.

How wow! You are playing with subtlety and adding a wonderful element of mystery to your images – very beautiful. My art lecturer quotes this from Sir Francis Bacon: “The job of the artist is to deepen the mystery”. And you are achieving this with such distinction.

Lina, I don`t know why this grabbed me so intensely…
there are very few poems that mist my eyes, especially ones that I don`t know why they`re making them mist. I`m actually having a bit of trouble seeing… wait a sec…
OK, that`s better.
I think what it is… you have finally managed to show me the light.
I think when I finally write my Funk & Wagtail dictionary of life defining terms, you`ll flip to Allowing and you will see this poem, complete with phoenetic markings for people who have trouble “getting it” (like me as of yesterday), and a note from the editor underlining its importance in the way we all need to live our lives if we want to survive and, more to the point, if we desire to let love into our lives.
And on a personal note, I need to thank you for what you have shown me about love on a spiritual level. Nobody has ever taken the time or thought it could be of such importance to me… but you did. And in spite of my reluctance to accept a take on life and love that is so different to mine, reading your poems have managed to let your wisdom filter into the cracks of my stubborn reason and start to generate a warmth that speads so silently and evenly that I didn`t even realize it was there…
until I read this amazing poem.
So here`s another fav for your roster… cause I also dig the picture. I like the way the couple seem to be of a color that is blended from all the contrasting hues that surround them.
Happily ever after. I now believe that is possible.
linaji replied
What I find so amazing is I never mentioned the word allowing. And yes, this is indeed the key to all our happiness for everything I have seen my own self feel in the last few weeks from the government (self induced fears) to feelings of others not being enough or getting ‘it’ (wide range of individuals) I know with all that has been shown me that allowing is the key to my happiness and well being. So once again I am completely blown away from your heart, mind and your amazing expansion as love and light for yourself and for others around you.
I am misty eyed too.
And with all that my heart can muster on any given day, I give you my heART with great joy.
Cherubtree

Again… truly beautiful stuff! I love the image but I the poem has so much truth in it! So often people get hung up on others not seeing the same as they… when really we are blessed that we don’t all see the same way… imagine how boring it would be… far better to revel in what another can show us… something we otherwise would not have seen, considered or known… thanks again…
linaji replied
jenny Mac.. I was back in your PF today and see you live what you speak.. contrast creates the questions and the expanding part of our existence!! Spot ON! thanks so much for adding to the love and wisdom of this page.
RuthFroehlinger
A marvellous image portraying splendid words of truth. Too seldom, do we take words like these to heart – where it would be so important for our lives and peace for all.

Together is the word,
together they live.
Blurring mist of dis-content
what one sees…the other soul meets.
Four eyes melting in one pair of soul seeds.
Perfect… too perfect….
but real…
sometimes…
seemingly.
Trees bending with honoring respect…
when they walk their ways….
following the tracks that ,,,
no one…
never…
had walked away.
And the breathing moisted the light…
and home was clean of dust…
and words shimmered Love’s light.
Rosa (goody, goody….)

Oh, Linaji this is a beautiful image. And, your poem, now become a mantra for me and my partner of 24 yrs (we’re legal now), is so powerful. We’re on the same journey but see so much differently through the narrative of each other’s eyes. Surely this plain is made more wonderous and indeed bearable when with all our differences we are able to traverse together and still live in harmony.

P.S. I loved your “Pleasantvile” response. That was a wonderfully quirky movie.
