AFTER A FEW FAULT-STAFS

THE FIRST BREW IS FOR ME THE BEST
BREWS SEEM TO PEEL AWAY UNHAPiness
MY MASKS..
MY FEARS
AND LOVERS TEARS.. AHH YAHH
THAT’S WHAT I LIKE ABOUT BEERS

SITTING HERE AT 20 YEARS OLD
I APPRECIATE NOT TO BE TOLD
LEFT TO MY CHOICES AND MY OWN DEVICE
I FEEL AT THIS MOMENT QUITE NICE

AS I AM EXPLORING LIFE AND COME TO
SOME UNDERSTANDING
WHY NOT HAVE A FEW
TO TAKE AWAY THE DEMANDING..
DRUDGERY OR
FEAR
THE WANTS
THE NEEDS
THEY ALL
DISAPPEAR…

ONE MORE PLEASE…

THE SECOND AND THE THIRD BREW
SEEM TO KEEP IT REAL
THE FOURTH HITS MY BODY
SOMEWHAT LUSCIOUS AND SURREAL

THE FIFTH AND THE SIXTH
ARE AT 5TH DIMENSIONS DOOR
A FEELING OF RESIGN AND FEELING OF
WANTING MORE
AND MORE

UNTIL I HIT THE WALL OF BLISS
PASSED OUT IN THE WOMB OF MY
CHILD LIKE DISS
FADE TO BLACK ALL THE HURT AND PAIN
FADE TO BLACK SO I REMAIN
ANGRY
BUT YOU CANNOT KNOW
I DO NOT WANT THAT PART TO SHOW

IF I’M UP IT’S SEVEN
AND THEN IT DEPENDS YOU SEE
THAT’S A BREAKING POINT
I FEAR MY FRIEND
WHEN I DON’T KNOW WHO TO BE.

Why is it so hard to face the world without our crutches? Is it easier to pretend to be someone we may wish we were hiding behind all those masks and glasses and smoke and and and? Did you ever notice that it is easier to cry behind sunglasses and into our beers? But when we look in the mirror and do not recognize who we see because of the distortion then maybe it is time for either ONE MORE or NO MORE AT ALL!

I have felt this way too … perhaps we all have at some time in our lives.

  • linaji replied

WE GO BY WHAT WE FEEL.. AND SOMETIMES.. not given the instructions to just pay attention to how we feel.. and we can be guided to having the power to make the choices in our thinking.. We learn on our own.. that certain things make us FEEL DAMN GOOD.. drinking drugs sex … sugar… food…. all of them give us some relief.. then we get caught up in what is called addiction.. so… then we have the opportunity to learn otherwise too.. xoxoLove you

Thanks so much for your lovely comments, linaji – and thanks for the welcome – I came over to redbubble from another site and am loving this one, so supportive and responsive, and absolutely amazing work – so much to view, so little time! But I do try :) I love that your piece has really struck a chord with so many – we humans have much more in common than not. Great stuff, my friend :)

Your writing is so true. I’m happy that I can escape into my art, if I’m feeling really bad. But I know it from friends and some family members who tried to drown their problems with alcohol.

    IF I’M UP IT’S SEVEN
AND THEN IT DEPENDS YOU SEE
    THAT’S A BREAKING POINT
    I FEAR MY FRIEND
WHEN I DON’T KNOW WHO TO BE.

    Simply great.

  • linaji replied

Happy New Year! I woke up the next morning feeling so rested and full of clear Joy!!
