Nicely done. I love the look of Russian church buildings. I’ve been told by others that they are ugly, but .. I think it’s an over-developed sense of appropriateness to situation that was hampering their joy of life. You know, like it wasn’t that they thought they were ugly, they just thought that they were a little too flashy to just be sitting about on a sidewalk or such as that.

I think that, because, some of them actually told me so, more or less. But, they didn’t think there was an appropriate context for them, either. So …

You know the sort of people I mean. They look at this and this and think they are not art, insist on it, because “only landscapes are art”.

So, only landscapes are art, churches should only build their buildings out of certain types of stones or bricks and with only these sort of embellishments, men should never wear makeup, women always should wear makeup, hamburgers and pizza cannot be balanced meals no matter what they have on them and parents who feed them to kids for breakfast should be jailed.

Boring, silly people; I suggest if you meet someone that says Russian churches are ugly, you just run away; unless they’ve been tortured in one, because, then, of course, they have an excuse.

This is magnificient! I love the “drama” that you added, the golden dome with sandy nuance and the cross against the richness of the blue sky… Have you seen Bulgarian church in San Francisco? I ask as I come from Bulgaria and we are East Orthodox… If you look into the eyes of a Vigrin Mary icon, from 13th century or so, you’ll be astounded with the deep (com)passion she has in contrast to the total detachment from this world…
