If you are reading this you are in the process of travelling through time and space. I know that you are sitting there.. blinking at your computer screen, scoffing or perhaps laughing… for WHO would have the audacity to suggest such a thing.
WE DO! We have the audacity to suggest such a thing. And We are The Members and Students of The Stanley School for the Metaphysically Gifted and We welcome YOU!
My name is Limerick. I have been a student at Stanley for thirty years. This year, 2010, I was given the honor of being promoted to Hall Monitor. I am still a humble student but I have some extra duties and responsibilities this year. One of those duties is to be ‘available’ and be your link to Stanley should you get lost, lose your way or find yourself in Middle Ground. Middle Ground is the most unpleasant place. It should be avoided at all times as it leads to certain mediocrity.
I am proud to invite you, on behalf of Stanley and Associates, to join this school. Enrollment is open to anyone. Fees are FREE. That’s right NO FEES…. however donations of black Jelly Beans are NEVER sent back.
Stanley is located in Paddock. Not ‘the paddock’. Paddock.
We at Stanley believe that Richard Bach mentioned Stanley in his book ‘Out of My Mind’ as it took place in Paddock. However, a rival school in Field also claim that Richard Bach was indeed talking about Field and not Paddock at all. We, at Stanley, wholeheartedly refute these claims. Field is nothing more than a hole.
You may attend classes at Stanley any time of the day or night. Class starts when you get there. The campus looks just as you imagine it. In fact, one of the ongoing artistic programs, named My Stanley, is a wall of photographs, each of Stanley, and not one of the buildings look the same. :) To some, Stanley is a warehouse smacked in the middle of Paddock. To others it is a long flat building which hovers above the ground in Paddock. We look forward to seeing what YOU make of Stanley.
To gain the most from your experience at Stanley, it would do you well to make time. However, not even time is needed to complete a degree at Stanley… as long as you have the capacity to do 2 things at once. Which is not as hard as it sounds.
To get to Stanley… you need to find a portal or conductor. Water works for me. So washing up or showers are a good way to travel. Also walking long distances with no destination is sure way to Stanley, for me. Afternoon ‘naps’ on the couch.. not where you sleep but where you dream are good for the serious student, as the mind is open and relaxed.
Study what you wish to at Stanley. I attend writing, drawing, philosophy and Spirit Etiquette. I occasionally sit in on other classes when the topic is especially interesting to me. There are no set rules or guidelines. You make of this what you will but there is a Universe of information and inspiration available to you. Imagine… never having a creative ‘block’ again!
So, for now, it is farewell. Have a good look around. Take it all in. Wander the halls. Should you need further assistance or a cheat sheet regarding access to any of the rooms or classes please do not hesitate to write.
Yours in Stanley and Truth,
