Goodbye

Hold me close, I’m leaving,
I think you know it too.
But just before I go now,
I just want you to know
that even though I’m still young
that I have no regrets, not one.
There are some things I wish I did
and some things I want to do,
but nothing really matters now
I’m lying here with you.

I know you’re sad I’m leaving
as I can taste your tears,
you’re holding me so closely
and I just want you to hear,
that even when I’m gone
and all the world stops,
that life was good, I did my best,
I hope it was enough.

I feel my spirit leaving
and I really should be scared.

I wish I didn’t have to
but now I need to go,
please see the smile
still on my face
and know,
that even though I’m gone
I’ll be with you every day.

I really need to leave you now
and there is nothing I can do.

until we meet again,
