Ok, so I’m Royal Wedding Obsessed. :) I’m not ashamed. I took lots of pictures of the live wedding on the television, an ocean away of course since I had no other option. ;) This one is blurry, and I added some softener, but I loved her pose and the princess-y quality of it.
Here is why I like Kate Middleton: when I was a little girl, I dreamed of marrying a prince, specifically Prince William or Harry. Yes, I know. ;) The dream of someday being a princess carried on into my more mature years, and when Kate – a pretty normal girl, who probably also had dreams like mine – became engaged to Prince William, I felt joy for a girl who saw the realisation of this fantasy. And pride for a prince who would step above his family tradition and marry a “commoner.”
Kate is bringing a fresh sense of pride and tradition to the old Royal family, and she is a nice role model for girls over many pop stars or celebraties. Nice, clean fashion sense, whimsical girl, and the future Queen: on top of that, she has a degree in Art History. If she does one day become Queen Consort, she’ll be the first in British history with a university degree. At look at those men attending to her! wink wink
I love history; I’m passionate about history, and this is history in the making. That I was able to see it live, via the magic of television, was a thrill for me: and I make no apologies for that!
