I AM TRYING TO GROW WINGS; TAKE YOUR CAGE AWAY

Featured Artist in Lake Superior Artists … 7.4.12 <3

All you really need to know is that I am a Storyteller. I tell my stories through writing, art, photography, dance, theatre, and living deeply. I have many goals and even more dreams, but my main goal is to live an honest life filled with art and humanity. My work is infused with a balance of light and dark, joy and pain, because that is what life has been for me – that is what life always is.

My studio art focuses mainly on the human body and anatomy, and through the years I have developed an intense love for the way the body works and how to portray that through art and writing. It’s a continual work in progress. I love live models; working with them is a great pleasure. I love finding the smallest details in photography and writing and making them the central focus: things people would usually overlook – a shadow, a feather on the ground, a drop of dew on a pine needle.

I am also an ardent reader, and I love to garden, cook, and sew. I am a Catholic and a Witch and a pagan and a woman; I am a crow and a doe and a cat, I am a wave breaking on the shore. Above all else, I tell stories.

This qoute is perfect for how I feel about the world:
The magic in this world seems to work in whispers and small kindnesses.” ~ Charles De Lint

I’VE BEEN TOLD BEAUTIFUL STORIES

Some lovely comments on my writing that still make me blush!

from Milica:
“You write like a woman kept in a tower in 1640. Beautiful and dark and ragged”

and from Constance Widen:
“Your portfolio is … beautiful in a wild and frightening way, the way Nature really is and should be.”

DA member:
“gorgeously disturbing …”

A Wee Bit Of A Break

Hello, everyone reading this! ;) / I have removed – and will continue to remove – a good bit of my portfolio in nearly every category. I’m trying to publish in journals, and many will only accept online work if it’s removed before submission. This means a lot of my better work is no longer up, or won’t be posted – which saddens me a little, because I would r…
