Side ( Seeday ) is one of the best kept secrets in Turkey It not only boasts one of the best known historically classical preserved sites in Turkey Side was an ancient harbour whose name meant Pomegranite a symbol of fertility in ancient Anatolion culture . As you approach Side ruins are visible in every direction walls,aqueducts,agora,baths,theatres,temples, nymphoian and tombs. The entrance to Side is dominated by a stunning ampi theatre built on a colonade of of arches which has a capacity of 15,000 seats,It dates from the 2nd century AD.and is the largest in the area. The audience section is a curved semi circle . Late empire period gladiator animal fights took place in the theatre. During the byzantine period in the 5th-6th century it was used as an open air church. Lumix DMC-TZ18

progressed from holiday snaps to being serious about it just 3 years ago.I keep a compact camera in my handbag at all times .It is more convenient, an SLR is to heavy and complicated for me. I just like to point and shoot. I do enhance my images slightly with pseudo HDR on a single image. Now I have a hobby and a passion.
