The IR beauty of a grave yard. A small graveyard just outside Ballarat. Abandoned, almost, yet there is a spirit (or two) that lives on here, a beauty that can still be seen, and especially with the sweet joy of infrared.

Come and see the world through new eyes.

Fabulous work,I find graveyards are perfect for IR’s

  • Thank you Hans. It’s the first chance I’ve had for ages to go out shooting or even get back onto RB! Graveyards were actually my first subject for IR photography years ago after I picked up a Nicon Coolpix which was reasonably IR sensitive (without modification). I have to admit to always enjoying a photoshoot in IR in a graveyard – especially old ones like this :)

Excellent – it’s great to be able to read the names…although sad as well…

  • Yes, sometimes I feel it is such a shame that the graves end up so abandoned and yet, in other ways, it seems to make them even more beautiful :)
