Fear not, for he watches the forests all,
Guardian of trees, the short and the tall,
The leafless, the evergreen, the pine and the gum,
Arise now, the spirit of the trees is come.
A tree ‘growth’. At first I thought it was a carving and was not going to photograph it. But then I found it was the way the tree had grown, and it only appeared this way at a particular distance and angle. Then, I knew, I had captured a nature spirit if ever there was one :)

He’s cute isn’t he! At first I thought it was a carving, as it was taken at Brambuk (National Park and Cultural Centre). But I realized as I closed in that the face disappeared and was just the way the tree had grown. So I backed out for the right angle and wwhooosh! he appeared again.

There’s something about trees that I can’t resist. If there is a tree spirit then I can only assume it likes me. At least, I can only hope it does!

I did write that piece, yes. I seriously do believe that they like me too. I have such an affinity with trees. I feel like hugging them everytime I see one. One day I swear they’ll talk back to me :) and I wont mind a bit.
