O! Wanderers in the shadowed land by

“O! Wanderers in the shadowed land
despair not! For though dark they stand,
all woods there be must end at last,
and see the open sun go past;
the setting sun, the rising sun,
the day’s end, or the day begun,
For east or west all woods must fail …

Fail – even as he said the word his voice faded into silence."

The Fellowship of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings published by Unwin and Allen.

Come and see the world through new eyes.

    Spoooooky! =)

  • It seems very much like a dead forest but maybe because it’s autumn. Has a very atmospheric feel huh?

ooo…. i want to go there ! just to see the creepy house hiding around the corner !

  • There actually is a house round the corner but (I am sorry to say) it’s really boring and on a road. Looking down the lane though you could going anywhere….. lovely feel to it. Very mysterious :)

love the quote with the image – so good

  • Sometimes Marion, I can almost taste, smell and touch middle-earth. I just can’t get there LOL. Glad you like the quote – it came straight to me when I looked at the picture.

Awesome work. So dense the woods. Love the clear details and fine contrasts which seem very difficult to get. Inspiring work!

  • Thank you maka. I appreciate your comment very much.

How spooky wonderful. One of my very favorite books as well…

  • You have excellent taste in books. It’s probably my number 1 fav. I long to live in middle earth. Perhaps, combining my imagination and photographic art, I sort of do…..

I still long for it! When I wander paths less trod in the wilderness, I imagine that I might at any corner meet elves, dwarves or hobbits. I’d even settle for an orc! I did meet an Ent once LOL
