Carers Care - the Government doesn't!
There are millions of carers in Australia – the odds are that you don’t know one but two or three. Some of us care for multiple people.
Despite what the government or centrelink tell you, there’s precious little support for carers. And the more you care, the less you get.
It’s time we all sent a strong message to the government – especially with election time coming. Carer’s matter and they matter to everyone.
(There’s no markup on these t-shirts. I make nothing – zilch. Which, co-incidentally, is what we receive for the care we provide to four aged parents. Nothing.)

I’m afraid I was cross when I did this one. But that doesnt make it any the less true. The parents are getting a little more help now from various groups which is wonderful but we’re still a zero income family until I can find work.

I offer you my prayers Kristina. It sounds like you are going through so much there. Life sometimes seems so unfair. I will say that I have learnt alot in my troubles and been given some wonderful opportunities to rediscover things about myself and others. I just try to gain some positive wherever and whenever I can. It’s hard sometimes of course.
You are a remarkable person and so lucky to have you on rb with such wonderful artwork too.

Things have improved and worsened since then.
Now, my mother-in-law is exceptionally sick in hospital receiving palitive care. But, she’s as stubborn as old boots and has an ability to recover that continually shocks the doctors. They’re now thinking of changing it to High Level care because she is improving beyond their expectations. We finanly got stuff sorted out with Centrelink though some of that will change if she (MIL) doesn’t come home or is in hospital too long. FIL is now requiring additional care so there’s hardly any hours in the day to blow any bubbles!
(mind you, I can shoot 80 pictures an hour and get 30 I like, so I’m still snapping every spare second I get LOL. Though most don’t get to RB)
Thanks Millicent

Oh! You have your hands full…such traumatic times. Very pleased you sorted out C/Link. You certainly DON”T need that added stress. Keep at the photography, you have to have some ME time. My heart goes out to you and your family.

True! I have learnt much over the last (hectic and horrible) 12 months or so though. Firstly, that every opportunity should be taken – even 5 seconds to snap a pic. And secondly, that there are images just begging to be captured at every turn. Even out of a hospital window LOL
