The Blue Lagoon
The lagoon was of course not blue. the blue of the sky is false colour obtained from the exchange of the red and blue channels of an infrared picture. The photo was taken in Geelong at the Aboriginal Craft & Cultural Interpretation Centre – Narana Creations. They have a beautiful walk and lots of artwork to buy. It’s a great chance to learn a little more about Australia’s real history. If it sounds like a plug then I guess it is although only by someone who’s been there once and was very impressed.
It’s my first infrared lake so I’m happy with the results.
The Blue Lagoon belongs to the following groups:

Very cool effect, nice variation on the IR theme.
lightsmith, about 1 year ago
Thanks Nathan. I was very pleased with the reflections as there wasnt much water in the lake (due to ongoing drought!).

Thank you Sprinkle. I was suprised at the reflection given the amount of water. But pleasantly suprised.
lightsmith, about 1 year ago
Amanda – it’s not exactly a secret place but I’ve been here for about 15 years and only managed to visit it this one time. I will certainly go back though. It’s not huge but for anyone visiting Geelong, I really recommend it.
lightsmith, about 1 year ago
nannajul – it does have a sort of magical quality. I am so pleased to have visited it. I’ll be doing so again and (after we have more rain) definately want more pictures.
