Voiced as resounding sighs, internally born
Eyes that reflect much more than suggestion
Of a love tried and confused, now often questioned
Hurtful phrases spoken by two, when enraged
Tonight one pleads, miscommunication we refuse to exchange
Surrender yourself this moment and feel my embrace
Close your eyes, take my hand, as my movements you trace
Without speaking, feel the music, relax, and follow my lead
Two faint heartbeats growing louder, from each other they feed
Remember a time, seemingly a lifetime ago
Refusing to follow advice, and take our relationship slow
Hopelessly falling in love, inseparable we became
Passion, cards, flowers, candlelight and walks in the rain
Overcoming all obstacles to dare stand in our way
Rushing home to one another each and everyday
Raising our children, now responsible and on their own
Due to the love and commitment two parents have shown
Now that this pair experience an empty nest
There is an adjustment, understandably some unrest
These turns in the road, no sharper than ones before
To them a reality, although clouded, they choose to ignore
Let not the two of them forget the past
Of vows to each other, a lifetime to last
If others find yourselves here, as you reflect
Take but a moment, with open heart, you wont regret
Prepare for the rush as you remember and rediscover
The unquestionable love and respect of one to the other
Once again,as if yesterday, beautifully you will dance.
A happy ending this poem should have, not by chance.
