A bit of a nostalgia shot for Kip at one of his old breaks.
Taken in the last few days, obviously the wind towers weren’t there 30 years ago.
Had a go at processing along the lines of what we used to achieve with Kodachrome with half a stop under exposure to saturate the colour.

This is Zeb about to line up the tube. He just luckily happened to be back home from Hobart doing a bit of work for a few days.

A lovely right hander and offshore breeze superbly timed & captured, Garth !!! Brings back great memories of my days surfing along the GOR area.

  • Thank you Phil, glad to bring back old surf memories.
It was this area that prompted my change to Kodakchrome & Ektachrome from colour negative film. I ran out of film and the local shop only had Kodakchrome. I couldn’t believe how much better the colour was when you didn’t have some machine deciding that it needed to be 18% grey. I don’t think I ever bought another roll of film again.

The green of the breaking waves looks stunning beside the blue. I, too, have found that a bit of under-exposure like in film days is often a good thing!

  • Thank you Bette
