A slightly different angle on my little patch of fagus, and the light gives truer colours.

Always great to see these little patches of red..nice and sharp where it needs to be Garth..
Ps, was chatting to a fella on the plane whod been trekking around Patagoinia, he said there were whole mountainsides of red Fagus..just imagine…!!

Yes Garth…just like that…I’ve stared at Helminadia’s Patagonia shots for a few days…almost obsessing over them – to the point of researching how to get to and how expensive it is to get to Chile…Qantas Syd- Santiago down Sth. etc, etc…wanna come along…lol..!! finish it off with a trip down the Columbia River Gorge..and a stopover in Hawaii……in my dreams..!! atm..anyway.

  • Her shots are in Argentinian Patagonia I think.
Melbourne – Beunos Aries – April 2013 $875 – one way cheapest I could find – price depending on dates

Up there with Tinnie for this? Never seen it in the flesh, but how beautifully you have captured this iconic plant.

  • Yes Sean, with Tinnie and about 15-20 other bubblers for a week of photographic heaven at fagus time. Thank you very much

Hey Garth. I love the macro perspective here and if I am not wrong …. was this taken soon after a shower!

  • Thank you Ari and yes you are right, the rain had backed off to just drizzle to allow me to take this shot.

Beautiful focal point and hues, Garth! How did I miss seeing these. Love the shallow dof and the light!
