A group of us redbubblers had a meet for the turning of the fagus at Cradle Mountain National Park.
We had a competition for the “straight from the camera JPG image of the day” on Friday. This is one of my 2 entries.
I thought it was a shot of a green fungus in amongst the leaf litter of the fagus. Beautiful green fungus they were too. The top is about 12- 15 mm across.
It wasn’t until I saw it on a 32 inch screen that I spotted the very fine spider web on the left side with water drops suspended from them.
And it wasn’t until I got home and went to remove that black spot on the stalk that I realised it wasn’t a black spot. At 100% in DPP it quite obviously becomes a bush tick. I am not sure if you will be able to see that but it is miniscule.
It’s a whole other world inside the macro viewpoint.

This is so very beautiful, lovely colours and details
Do you want to add this to Plants at Risk group

  • Thank you Kalaryder.
Sorry but no I don’t, it is not a plant and I have no idea whether it is at risk or not.

Wow Garth, this one is magical. I am so disappointed that we can not be there this year!
I would have voted for this one if I was the judge!

  • Thank you very much Di, there was some pretty stiff competition from some very good photogs across a few different genres. T’was great fun.

What a find this was Garth..I love this shot and now I see this version..it’s superb in every way..
Great to meet and spend some time out adventuring with you mate.

  • Thank you Rob, it was great to meet you and the exploring was magnificent (both walking and photographically). Been checking out a couple of stitched panos from “our spot” and while they are not up to your standard yet, I quite like them. I might even post one temporarily.

Nice Garth, the winner must have been a ripper!

  • Thank you Craig, the winner was a beautiful shot and there were probably quite a few that could have won. The judge had a very difficult job to do.
