Tasmanian Christmas Bells (Blandfordia punicea) poke through the undergrowth on the top of Mt Hazelton in this view looking south out over Mt Lily & Woody Peak to Western Bluff in the Norfolk Range.
This range is deep in Tarkine territory and is the northernmost of Tasmania’s west coast ranges.

Beautiful – we have such a rich flora in Tasmania –
the background looks like a painting of early Tassie, stunning scenery

  • Thank you Suellen, you are right about the rich flora, the variety of native wildflowers out on the Norfolk Range at the moment is probably the best I have ever seen in the Tasmanian bush.

Nice one Garth. I like the way the bare branches create a bowl (of sorts) for the background to sit in. Brilliant composition.

  • Thank you Michael, yes I like that too although that just fell into place.
I concentrated on the Bells and Western Bluff and was just lucky with the branches.
