no thats not its real name. But this image totally surprised me. I thought the camera held solely throw aways. Went for a shoot with Murph and didnt feel as if I had anything.
Then I looked at this more closely and yes it does have washed out sunset highlights but they mightnt be too much of a problem.
I love the isolation of all the little “islands”.

    Thank you drec, it looked a fairly drab scene in the half twilight as you may imagine, but the time exposure managed to show the true colours of the water and the rocks as is often the case. The camera sees what the eyes cannot.

    Isn’t that wonderful when that happens? The ones you think are really bad can turn out to be gems. Unfortunately, sometimes it works the opposite way, that the pictures don’t turn out as good as you thought out there. This is wonderful work!

    Oh all right then, its the north side of West Point near Marrawah in NW Tasmania. Called Nettley Bay on the maps but all the locals call the next bay north Nettley.

    Thank you veritasunsaid, yes its one of the gems of the world and has been special to me for a long time. My family farmed there for 3 generations so I spent holidays on the farm as a kid, surfed there and played football there as an adult.
    Surfing has taken a back seat due to a back injury but now I go there to take pics of all the places I know about. Hardly scratched the surface with the camera yet and loving it.

    Wow Garth, really love the feel of this, a magical luminance about the scene, and how the use of 10mm wide angle makes the rocks appear to go right out to the horizon. Great work :)

Never thought it would be like this but if I had to choose just one lens to have it would be the UWA. (til they find a way to make an affordable 10-400mm F/3.5-4.5 anyway.)
