Vicki Ferrari
Garth, this is amazing!! My heart drops, looking at that fall! It looks like you were up so high! What time of the day did you shoot this? I am knocked over!! .........
Garth Smith replied
THank you for the kind words Vicki,
It was not long after sunrise with the sun still really low in the sky but the orange had gone out of it as a cloud muted the sun.
Its a little deceptive due to the wide angled lens. The camera is mounted on the tripod so I am not very high up at all, only about 2 and a bit metres above the waterlevel. The “island” rock is about 10 metres off “the point”.
Garth Smith replied
my feet are about 2 and a bit metres above the water I mean
Travis Easton
water looks truly magical with these long exposures, great shot mate.
Garth Smith replied
Thanks Travis.
betty porteus
Close to the edge feeling invoked by the proximity to cliff face is the Stanley Nut experiance The churning sea is as tretcherous as it looks. It is a truely powerful image.

Thank you Betty.

Sensational Garth, super shot!!
Garth Smith replied
Thank you John, its funny what you get from a throwaway session sometimes. I went to this shoot full of beans and then became a bit lacklustre because I couldnt get or find what I wanted. Took this one with a wtf attitude and was very pleasantly surprised when it popped up in the viewfinder.

Wonderful capture Garth, almost feels as though one could fall over the edge, may be that”s just me, having a fear of heights. I love the shot anyway.
