ANOTHER SPACE IN TIME

A vision grows inside me I must write before it’s gone,
A poem that embraces gentle breezes and sunlit ponds.
Words to lull the mind, a poem to dream upon,
To take my soul to a quiet place, ascending Earthly bonds.

Embracing a clearing with Sun on my face,
The wind gently playing with locks of my hair.
The whispers of nature, the peace of the place,
I smile with contentment just to be there.

Kneeling by the waters edge to cast a stone within,
Lazy ripples ride the waves to be captured at the shore,
Watching my reflection as the waters swirl and spin,
Turning to a baby’s laugh, to face my child once more.

Playing in the fragrant fields of daisies and the clover,
Feeding bits of breadcrumbs to the ducks and to the birds.
Hand in hand we love the land until the day is over,
The joy I’ve found within my heart cannot be put to words.

Holding her close to me, keeping her warm,
Telling tales of the stars and the great Milky Way.
Until lost in the magic, she sleeps in my arms,
To Nature’s serenade, as I watch the moonbeams play.

I lay with my child in Earths Cradle, like Life’s most honored guest,
As dawn stretches her fingers across the sky and I rhyme a break of day.
Soon reality will enforce its way, and disregard the rest,
Ending poems and dreams alike, and my mental holiday.
