A sea of red poppies displayed in a lightshow on to the Royal Naval War Memorial in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal on Plymouth Hoe.
“The people of Plymouth are well aware of the sacrifices of our armed forces in recent times in Iraq and now in Afghanistan. The illumination of Plymouth Hoe, therefore, could not be more apposite in the run-up to Remembrance Sunday on 8 November. It will serve as a very moving reminder to the people of Plymouth of the need to safeguard the memory of the fallen, and the ongoing needs of former members of the Armed Forces.”
