Salar de Surire - Chile
The Salar de Surire is located south of Parque Nacional Lauca at an altitude of 4200m. This is taken from one of the many hot springs that dot the area. I stayed in the CONAF refugio here (sleeps 4 people) and, once the guardaparque went home for the day, I didn’t see another person for the entire duration of my stay. If you want solitude and beauty – this is the place.
