Leyla Hur

Growing up in Hong Kong, I traveled widely throughout the world as a child. I honestly think that this opened my eyes to different points of view and different perspective. When we would visit such exotic lands, my family was never satisfied to stick to the hotels and do the “tourist” thing; we got down and dirty together with the locals and enjoyed the local flare as if we too were part of the inhabitants of the land.

It is with this sense of adventure that I like to look beyond that which is on the surface and I see the world in a different perspective, which had lent itself to my photography and life in general.

Exploring the many facets of life through the lens and sharing my vision with the world. Photography, is for me, a deeply spiritual meditative experience, and an outlet to share a deeper part of myself with the viewer.

I view my style as a mixture of night and day, dark and light, Yin and Yang, balance in harmony of all things. Without dark we can not enjoy light, without light we can not embrace darkness. I see, I snap, I share.
