Artist's Description

This was a character portrait with a screenplay and an actress’ photo for reference. I like to think she is a dryad escaping the horrors of drought. An Australian mythological hybrid, all broken bark and dry brittle features. Imagine her crackling skin and dusty detritus all caught up in dry coughs and scratchy eyes. The screenplay has a touch of horror to it, with her old hunger caring little for the fleeting lives of human beings. She is an old terror emerging from her sleep, awoken by unnaturally long drought, parched and desperate and hunting.
