He walks on the lonely road
fearful of fates plan ahead.
Once arrived at destination unknown
does joy await, or is he met with dread?

Starved of light and life alike,
will his soul be filled at journey’s end?
A shell exists where once was drive
He’s skeptical of hope’s deceptive trend.

Where fear exists, he lacks the faith
for safety lies in his current state.
Yet with one more step down dreary lane,
he comes closer to his unknown fate.

He walks on the lonely road
weary from a trek unraveled.
But to go is better than ignorance,
sprung from a quest yet traveled.
