Importance of Education

From the title of this journal entry you would think that I had something profound or great to say. Sorry to disappoint. My purpose in writing this was to mark a huge step I am about to take. I just received word that my funding for school came in, which means I am going back to school after a…. wow, I think it has been a five year absence.
I must admit, I am a little nervous. I left college five years ago to serve a mission for my church. When I returned home a year and a half later I instantly went to work for a private school as a Kindergarten teacher, then I moved on to first grade. I have always felt that education was important, and other than my family and my Father in Heaven, I can not think of anything I love more than to learn and share what I have learned. When I became pregnant with my son after being married, I quite teaching so I could stay home to raise my children. I have been throwing the idea around about going back to school, but …. well I am sure you can relate when I say there was always one reason or another why I should not.
Now… I have eliminated all the excuses, I have the funding, and …. I am going back. I began my education in History, but I have realized part of the reason I was not motivated to go back was because I was no longer interested in pursuing History. So, I am going back with a completely new major, which will give me a B.A in Visual and Public Arts, and I am looking to minor in Psychology. I wanted to go back for photography, but I wanted to be able to do something with my skills and knowledge that would allow me to still teach and help others. I am currently looking into expressional therapy.
Anyway… there it is. I just wanted to share my excitement and news.

So good of you Lexie. Well done.. and I’m sure you will enjoy it.
Myself, I’m waiting for my next level photography starts. Eager to learn..
And remember, the brain is like a muscle. It needs training.
So man people are dumbed by newspapers, tv, games.. no wonder so much violence, frustration. Study is the way to the future.
sad to see the NZ gov does little to support schooling..
But true, the way out is the way into the mirror.
As I say; when you have the will, you will find the way.
    And you did.,
    My depp respect for you
