Rannoch Moor Dawn
I got to Rannoch Moor when it was false dawn, and I was the only photographer in the whole place, it was quite magical.
The clouds here started as a couple of wee puffy ones on the peaks of the Black Mount, and gradually built up the closer to dawn it got. The sky above me was really clear, so I could see the sun beginning to creep over a bank of clouds behind me and I knew that this would be a good one.
I was going for a long exposure to smooth over the already pretty smooth water, and decided to keep the grass in to add a touch of subtle depth, photos of reflections can be pretty 2-dimensional without something to break up the foreground.
Eos 5D with 17-40L at 32mm, ISO 50, 10 seconds with a 1.2 ND and a 0.9 hard grad.
Rannoch Moor Dawn belongs to the following groups:
Canon DSLR (One Image Per Day & A Canon Camera Must Be In The Description Before It's Accepted), Dawn and Dusk Light, Fine Art of Landscape Photography, Landscape Photography, Northern landscape, The Scots are Coming, Timelapse/Long Exposure Photography and United Kingdom Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints, Framed Prints and Posters

nice reflection, great colour and composition

Great light and reflection, and the very simple foreground (reeds) help make this image even better.
