Trichotomy

Oil on Canvas 30×40 in.

This painting is a triple portrait piece using three separate poses by the same model. I set my camera up on a tripod with a trigger release cable and had the subject move to three separate spots on the seating area in front of a water wall, posing each to create a unique perspective of her personality. The photos were used for reference in creating the painting.

This is really a very clever piece. I love what you did with this though I have this itch in me that wants to paint long hair on her with intertwining locks…don’t know why lol

I know why!! I told her that she would look so much prettier with long hair, but some girls just aren’t happy unless they have it cut. I got the last word, though. Check out “Linda Vista de Jalaya”...it’s the same model but I painted her with long hair…hehehehee!!!!

Yep, this is quite a clever idea :))

For me it looks as if the middle one is talking to the left one while the right one is just listening their conversation.

That’s partly true, actually the one on the right is being ignored and feeling left out. The three personalities are (from left) formal and businesslike; fun and vivacious; lonely and dejected.
