I am a professional artist, muralist, and an architectural embellishment artisan and owner of an interior design/handyman business. I am also a writer, musician and songwriter. Though I have had a life-long interest in drawing and art and have had “spikes” of creativity, I just started taking art drawing and painting seriously in 1999 when I determined to learn portraiture. In the beginning I used graphite, then added colored pencil, then went to oil paints. After a serious illness in 2001 I determined more than ever to try to leave a piece of me behind. I love painting all kinds of images, but my favorites usually include one or more of the following: clouds, water, female figures.

I will always consider myself a student, but I want to find my own path and perfect it as best as I can through continued exploration, trial, error and success. In my journey I have also delved into fine woodworking, stained glass art, authored numerous short stories, two fantasy novellas and am working on a third.
I’m normally a quiet guy, like to listen rather than talk, unless it is to inject a bit of humor. I enjoy the outdoors, flyfishing and capturing the beauty I see or imagine in my paintings and drawings. My art is mostly about beauty and romance, not about making statements, but about appreciation of having the gift of sight and the images to which my eye is drawn or my imagination wanders. My mentoring began with a couple of talented high school friends and was further nurtured by studying the works of the great Victorian romanticists: WJ Waterhouse, WA Bouguereau, Sir Francis Dicksee, Godward and many others. My great dream is to illustrate and publish my own book(s) and to make a decent living selling my creations.
Interests:
Art (of course), architecture, music, science, literature, theater, astronomy, engineering, socializing, studying great artworks by my favorite artists. Playing guitar, bagpipes & keyboard, writing songs…searching for beauty in this world while preparing for the next.
More Info:
Married (2nd) to my best friend and first love whom I went with in high school as a sophomore, and found again after 34 years apart on Classmates.com, five children of my own, 4 surviving: all grown, and one stepson.

The Proposal

Marriage…the word was a little scary after the last one of mine had met its demise, but having become reacquainted with my first love, everything took on a new light.

Reunited - Lady Windsor Found after 34 Years

Jean and I still look at each other and feel flabbergasted that we have been brought back together after so many years;

The Tire-Changing Party

As my adventures go, this one was sublime; having all the necessary components to make for great times and great stories to tell later to any who would listen. The occasion was a ten-day trip to Mana…

You Have To Strike While The Irony's Hot

This is the story of a portrait painting…you can see it on Redbubble…titled “Spring of a Soul”.

Stupid Dogs

I have long ago given up on dog ownership. There are several practical reasons for this…but the real reason is that I seem to have a knack for selecting the world’s dumbest dogs.

The Killer Bees

“What’s the matter?!!” I yelled over the din. But before he could answer I could see that literally hundreds of angry hornets were on the attack!!!
