Oil on paper, 20×27.5cm
What do babies think about? They certainly seem to go off somewhere every now and again, lost in deep, quiet, contemplation.
This is a quick portrait of my neice’s little daughter, Ella Louise. She’s not quite one year old yet but already she is a bit of a character. This captures one of her pensive moments.

Les this is really sweet, I was actually thinking of getting one done of Hannah and would like nothing better if it was painted by her own family, I’m still doing stick men! so let me know if No 1 your up for it! and then what you require from me..loving all your work by the way cousin Tim x

  • Thank you Tim. I never had myself down as a portrait artist let alone a baby specialist but since I did this one for Gemma, I’ve had loads of enquiries. I’ll tackle anything and once the mood is right and the muse is flowing, I can ususally get stuck in and get a result.
I was really pleased with this one and all of the family loved it. I’m working on another one for Lynn at the moment and trying to finish it before the weekend. Its a present for her hubby, Andy who’s birthday is next week so fingers crossed on that one.
I’d be delighted to paint one for yourself. I’ve seen the photos you left in Mum’s house and could work from some of those but if you have a favourite shot, email it to me and I’ll do my best to come up with a little masterpiece.
Good to hear from you and I’m glad you like my work. See you soon I hope, Les x
