Wow! This is lovely but I’m guessing it’s not a sunflower! lol

  • Leslie Battjes replied

Cathy, it’s not a sunflower, you were right. It’s actually the innermost chambers of a nautilus shell. The shell’s insides are very pearlescent and when the filter was applied, these colors were picked up. Of course, I enhanced them a bit, and there you have the “sunflower” :) thanks for stoppin’ by.

ooo very cool! Mundy Hackett uses that filter sometimes – it has awesome effects. Very cool, abstract image

  • Leslie Battjes replied

Thanks, Jo! I like to “find” images in things that you wouldn’t always see at first. It’s like opening a gift sometimes…you never know what delights you might find! :)

    Cpt Piccard: Warf, WARF, WAAAARF!!!!!
    Warf: Yes Captian!!
Cpt Piccard: Not you Warf, Helmsman; watch out for the warf your going to crash the ship & its just back from the body shop. That last paint job cost a fortune.

    really great work

  • Leslie Battjes replied

Thanks, Yvonne. The naulitus images were the first and only true set I’ve ever worked on. I usually get bored photographing the same type of thing, but those two shells just kept speaking to me. So much fun! :)
