Diana the Red-Tailed Hawk
I made a mistake labeling this beautiful hawk as a Hawaiian Hawk. I was recently informed that this is actually Diana the Red-Tailed Hawk at the Louisville Zoo. Kalani is the Hawaiian Hawk and looks very similar, but if you follow this link, you can see the difference:

I’m so sorry for the misunderstanding!
Thanks so much to Brad Nelson for helping me out! :)

Nice one Les. Do you know if they’re trying to breed it to help the species? Why does the Louisville zoo have one?
Leslie Battjes replied
Thanks, Anthony! Not sure about what they are doing…they do a lot of conservation work and have been a major helping in rehabbing several species..this may be another one. I’ll have to get back to you on that when I’m home and on my own computer….I really hate working on a laptop…makes every little thing so much more difficult! arghh

Great image! But that looks like “Diana” at the Louisvile Zoo, who is actually a Red-Tailed Hawk. “Kalani” is the Hawaiian Hawk at the Louisville Zoo.
Here is are links to photos of both Diana and Kalani that I have taken so you can compare:
