Ghent is full of cobbled streets and people riding bikes. I was setting up to take this shot when I spotted a man stop to look in a window. I quickly framed and got the shot before he moved on. The striking building at the centre of the frame is De Gekroonde Hoofden, which translates as House of Crowned Heads. The Renaissance facade is from the 1560’s (i think) and is covered with scrolled gables and portraits of the counts of Flanders.

Ghent, Belgium.

Thank you to all who stop by to have a look, it’s much appreciated, as are your comments!

I love that you captured the guy looking in the window…….nice that he held still long enough. What was the red?? Love that building at the end of the road…..another gorgeous shot!!

  • Thank you very much!! In Ghent most people travel by bike, the red light is the back of a passing bike. It summed up the area for me, cobbled streets, bikes and gorgeous architecture!

Another great night shot – never been to Ghent but this looks lovely. I have some night shots of Zurich before my addiction to rust came about.

  • Thank you sooo much for all the comments and for taking the time to look through my work, really really appreciate it!! :) Ghent is a beautiful city, fantastic to photograph!
